Has anybody had experience with Leafhopper Resistant Alfalfa? Was wondering how it feeds out. Do cows like it? Was also wondering if anyone has had problems with corn silage made from triple stacked corn. Seems to me like stalks are harder and it makes silage fluffier. Cows will eat it, but I it don't like the way it packs into the silo.

we put out a field of the leaf hopper a few years ago. was not impressed. tonnage was lower than everything else we planted.

I chopped a field of stacked corn last year, never really noticed a difference. except that $3 dollar corn seemed to feed easier than $130 hay !

Thanks- could be the weather on stacked corn. Ours looked like it had the blight. It had leesions and all. It probably dried to much on that account.

we put in 160 acres last spring, 60 last fall and 40 this spring........

I sure hope Monsanto has good lawyers!

if you want to sell good clean hay, it can not be beat. but if you want to feed it, it is hard to beat Kansas Common.....

I put in 25 acres of Kansas Common for the price of ONE BAG of RR alfalfa....

we try to hit 20 lbs to the acre, and that 1/4 cost just shy of $20,000 to plant!

Last alfalfla we put in was some high dollar Dekelb and then we put in some we cleaned and combined ourselves and the fields were right beside each other and the home-grown stuff out did the pricey stuff... And still is the better field....
