I just found out today that Larry Leonhardt- the originator/breeder of the Shoshone line of angus cattle died on July 5th at the age of 79 after a short battle with cancer...

He truly was a cattle breeding legend... I have one of his books- and I find myself constantly thumbing thru it for ideas or looking for material on certain bloodlines...
His legacy will live on in all the Shoshone bloodline's running thru the Angus and Red Angus herds....

His name is Larry Leonhardt. Not Leonard. Get it right or don't post.

That was a pretty lame shot. Maybe get up and go outside if you're that unhappy about life. The rest of us are trying to enjoy it. :D

I enjoy life. Larry Leonhardt ment a lot to me. I just think if a guy is going to post of Larry's passing he ought to at least know his name. Sorry if that's lame.

I have to agree with Ho55. Larry Leonhardt was special to many of us and if you want to be the messenger of his passing, spell his name correctly. I believe it's called "respect".

I never thought I would do this, but in the old curmudgeon's defense, if he was using a smartphone to post, the damned auto correct (or whatever you call it) feature would take a last name like that and garble it into the more common "Leonard" and the poster may not even realize it.

He was special to us as well. We treasure the time spent with him when on
bull-buying trips. I still remember him saying "I'm just a dirty little beet farmer. (Yeah, right.) He also said, "no one wants to buy my bulls, but everyone wants to buy my cows."

He knew more about Angus genetics than just about anyone in the USA and was willing to share his knowledge. Great man, Larry Leonhardt.

Thanks for letting us know, OT.

Larry's obit.
