Congrats on that nice buck.
I´ve seen a lot of pics of some really nice deer here but unfortunately the photography often takes away from the trophy in my opinion.....or doesn't do it justice at least.
Some pointers I'd offer would be to always have the sun in the face of person being photographed. Several photos in one thread had the sun in background and the shadows made it tough to see the hunter's face (important) and often the deer's rack as well.
And then there is the issue of background distractions, especially when the rack is involved. For instance, one really nice whitetail shot needlessly had a fence post right smack in the middle of the rack.
Take a minute and think through the final product. Get closeups.....the hunter's face, the deer's rack, head and shoulders. If you want to do a body shot for size demonstration, by all means do so, but we all know what a deer's body looks like. It's the rack that's unique and the pleasure on the face of the hunter that you want to capture.
I now yield my soapbox. :?
