So is that about a normal amount of snow Jody? And I don't remember what your moisture situation was like last year - were you dry like most of the plains?

When I was in Jackson about 8 or 9 years back, this east-coaster had never seen so much snow. The skiing was awesome and nothing like the ice we call snow here.

I'll take a stab in the dark. We took a back country snowmobile tour out of Jackson one day. It wasn't in Yellowstone, but what stood out was we were cruising along and came upon (by design) a huge log lodge in what seemed like the middle of nowhere and looked to cater to snowmobilers. Jody, any idea what the name of that lodge might have been? I'm curious to know if was truly out in the middle of nowhere or if the trail system made it seem like it.

there are lodges up the Gros Vente, there is one on the Grose Vente that you get to from the Pinedale side , There is Towogatee lodge but it on US 26. Back off US 26 on Alantic side there is Brooks Lake. Then there Box Y on Big Greys River.

I spent one winter living at Big Sky MT-- and loved the snow back then....But as I get older- it just doesn't seem as much fun...
Beautiful country Jody- but I'm glad its you and not me trying to work in that snow...
Today here it was 40, sunny, no wind and I spent a couple hours just riding the 4 wheeler and walking around thru the cows...Most the snow on the flat is gone- and cows are walking away from the hay to go grazing... Maybe we will end up with a nice calving season like we had last year...
