I am lolling to move to Montana by the end of October and I am looking for a job on a ranch. I have had prior experience for working on a ranch I live on a small ranch that I have had to run all sorts of equipment. I have had to feed, fix fencing, take care of animals ( do not know to much on all of the medical situations), and I have experience in butchering up all of the animals that we raise ( cows, chickens, turkey, hogs, goats and lambs). I know how to weld and have basic equipment repair skills. Hopefully find a place that I can live on the ranch. If you have further questions feel free to ask me.

There's a 1/2 dozen local guys who chased that dream they all came back home. Montana ranches must not be that romantic in the end. If you don't want to be a full time mechanic on a ranch I'd keep quiet about any welding or mechanic skills those big outfits need mechanics more than they need cowboys. Most of the guy's who went from here went with the idea that they'd sit on a horse all day everyday. Then real ranch reality set in fenceing, farming, haying etc. etc. etc. very little horseback work. Good luck to you.
