Does anyone know where a person can find a reasonably priced 16 or 16.5 inch pony collar. I bid on a whole harness with a advertized 16.5 inch collar on ebay and when it got here it was smaller than the 15 in. I already had that is too small for my pony. I found a website that has collars but they want over $100 for one which I found to be a bit steep since I paid half that for the whole harness collar included.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, that's a relief.

From the title I thought Big Muddy had been bad again.

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

You beat me to the punch - I was gonna say that!

But then I saw the 16.5 inch and knew it wasn't big enough for BMr.

Thanks guys you have been a BIG help, No the collar is not for BMR but just so you know we do have a handy shock collar if he gets out of line.  It is for the ponies our son rescued them from the meat truck and I'm breaking them to drive. They are a cute friendly little pair of 12hh 4 year old buckskin mares. I just hope I can get them quiet enough to hook them to my carriages. I have a great single harness I got off Ebay to work with on them single . I also got a double harness off ebay to drive them as a team but the one collar is a bit small. I was just hoping someone knew where I could find a bit bigger collar for the one.

Please let me know LBR if you have one at this point I don't really care if it is new or used I just need something to get started that fits. I have done a fair bit of ground work just driving them single on the lines and pulling a tire. I even made a little walk behind chariot with shafts to get them use to pulling something that rattles behind them. A friend gave me a Sulky to use but I'm not sure they are quiet enough yet for me to want to ride with my feet that far off the ground, in a postition I see no easy way of bailing out of. Next I would like to get them hitched together and see how that goes pulling a tire first then on to a cart then maybe the buck board, chuckwagon or surrey. The final test will be the Stage coach as like Haymaker once said the last thing we need to see is the ponies running away and a cute little red stage coach going over in a deep coulee.  I hope to have them so I can hook up my sleigh this winter but we'll have to see how things go.

Thanks again.

tam , the collar I was thinking of is 18" , you could pad it up and it might fit to what you want , let me know if you what it , I'll throw it on the bus and all you have to do is pay for freight , I'll most likely never use it .

That would be great I try it to get started. :D

I will PM you the info.

Thanks again.

When you get 'em kind of harness broke (not quite bomb proof now) and hooked to the chuckwagon, you may want BMR to get 'em started right with an airhorn or something like that so they know when you're ready to go.

Helpful cuss aren't I? :D

Yep you sure are.

If I point them west to northwest will you at least toss me a sandwich or something when I go by your place. Airhorn.   Just to get you on the page here, I want a western chuckwagon team not a Calgary Stampede chuckwagon team.

Good thing there is a delay on the Satellite phone because BMR will be too sore to get there in any kind of hurry when it rings. :!:
