I just got home from Hawaii. Went to the Island of Moloklai and wired a bed & breakfast as a favor to a contractor. 14 hour days working and not enuff time surfing!

Molokai from the air. Flew to Honolulu, Oahu on Delta and got on a puddle-jumper and went to Molokai.

Cows and egrets on lush pasture. A really hard life for cattle!

I took a morning hunt for free-range Axis deer. Had a great time and even got a little buck. Brought the horns home and donated the meat to the locals.

My friend who took me hunting, Jason Lui.

As he lay. They are pretty little buggers.

The lava influenced soil was martian-like in places.

This area is grazed occasionally but is much dryer. The rainfall goes from 150 plus inches on the north and east end to 15 inches on the far west side. You know you are beyond help when ya go to Hawaii and spend your time workin, huntin, and lookin at cattle!

Great pictures. The flower one is gorgeous! I never thought of Hawaii as a hunting paradise. Thanks for posting.

You chose a good place to be lost :D . Perhaps next winter you'll have to make another trip just to be sure the wiring is holding up  . Thanks for taking us along.

Sounds like you really lucked out on this deal.Island hoping, surfing, hunting, barely leaves a guy enough time to pull wire.I'd get laughed off the place if i told my family i was going to Hawaii to work for a week.  Thanks for the photos!

I'm sittin here trying to figure out a way to summer the cows here in the sandhills and winter/calve in Hawaii??? I'm guessing that the cattle drive might be a tad bit long, and the pond would be a little deeper than my horse would like to swim..but hey, if it would work..how cool would that be?...
