I made it home from the finals yesterday. It was a very tearful opening ceremony. There were 51 MAW children from South Dakota in attendance. They read the names of several children who were there last year who had past away. All the children got to ride into the arena in wagons pulled by teams owned by local volunteers. They also read some of the wishes of the children. I think they said that currently 37 wishes are in the works.
I had 4 donations with me for a total of $160. Dad's scroll saw cut sold for $200. I know there is at least one more donation that is in the mail. I will send that on to Paul G. (he was in charge of this). All totaled we left MAW $360. I don't know the total amount raised Sat. night, but it was probably close $2000-2500. I did get a couple pictures, but the light in there isn't the best for my little camera, so I appoligize.
It was some really good bull rididng, great young talent and quality bulls.
Duane Reichert was there with pony-baroni (the III? ) billy the kid and silver lady. I haven't seen Duane in years and didn't know he still had his act going. All the kids seemed to have a great time :!:
