Rena, Sunflower, and Peach kept things going at home while the Kosmo Kid and I spent the day gadding. I also went to the dentist and spent $188
getting a chipped front tooth fixed. Kosmo got a $42 back treatment while in the big city. Then we had dinner and picked out bulls.

and all eighteen of the calves have survived. This is an all-time record for us.
 
The number of calves to be tagged Peach might need to do multiples just to keep caught up. Do you move out cattle groups before their cohorts have all calved or are they calved in different areas so they can be kept together? Just trying to get my mind around some of the logistics involved with the numbers you run.

Nice pen of bulls, are they from a commercial outfit?

For weather protection reasons, we calve close to our headquarters. We sort heavies in from the bigger bunches, and calve in a fairly good sized day lot. Each evening we get the heavies in and drop back the pairs. The next morning the pairs are driven out before the heavies are released again into the day lot. We can go different directions with pairs, and have some pretty good cedar tree shelter belts for wind protection.

The bulls are from a reputation neighboring commercial outfit that raises their cattle much as we do ours.

BMR, the wife was looking for some comfortable pants to wear riding, I suggested pants like the Norwegian women curling team wore. She thought that was a good idea until she remembered Dolly's song "Coat of Many Colors" and thought her Barrell Buddies would tease her. Then she saw Rena in the picture and asked if I would mind asking what kind of jeans she had on, and being the good husband I am, I did.
 
I have the wrangler jets and cash jeans that have some stretch and I really don't like them... If you do buy them, get em skin tight because they stretch really bad and then fit like pajamas... The no gap waist band is nice and feel great in the beginning, but I find that I am constantly trying to pull them up... I like the twenty x jeans.. Gives me lots of leg room and fits fairly well through the waist.. They run a little small so don't panic if ya have to go a size up... I try and stay away from any jean that has the spandex stretch, because they just stretch to much for me.. I guess I'm just to active and those half gainers and back fleps that I do is just to much... :roll: :wink: :twisted:
 
I was strictly a Wrangler 13 MWZ girl for years and years. Then I started wearin Cruel Girls. Just the plain everyday one's Nothin fancy. They are low rise. But not the 1 inch zipper length ones that are super low rise. At first I didn't think I'd like them. But now it feels weird to put on a pair of Wranglers. They feel like they are up under my arm pits. I won't buy anything that has stretch in it. Hate em. They just feel goofy and Katrina is right. They stretch out...and then you spend the rest of the day hikin up yer britches cuz ya feel like yer loosin em . And from experience...they don't last as long. Haha ya'll have all seen Lil Lilly's jeans with holes in the knees. Well most of hers have stretch. She likes em..but I don't.
