Doesn't look to be a big crowd for a horse sale. :?

The crowd was bigger earlier. The pictures I posted were for the open horse sale which followed the catalog sale. People can only sit for so long on a nice spring day.

Do you remember what the big blonde team sold for? :D

Yes, I do remember. Since I am already in hot water for asking the buyer's wife if she had yet ridden in a wagon pulled by the new team, and she asked, "What team?", I'd better retain "seatmate-buyer confidentiality" and remain silent. :-) Facebook can be fun, but oh so incriminating.

You are a fast learner, Soap. :D

We went to a horse sale with our neighbor several years ago. It was held
a couple of hours away. Pete talked and visited a lot going over. At the
sale he really got into it and bid on several horses and wound up buying 2. On the way home
he didn't have much to say. I never thought a lot about it because it was fairly late.
The next day I called his wife and mentioned Pete had bought 2 horses.

OOPS!

He hadn't told her yet. No wonder he didn't talk on the way home.
I think he knew she wouldn't be pleased. I sure didn't mean to spill the
beans til he had time to tell her in his own way.

It turned out okay tho. She didn't leave him over it; and the horses turned
out to be good ones. Both of them. Someone was watching over him that day.

Interesting comments on buying and not telling.

I have one as well.

A bull showed up here the other day and the trucker dropped it in the pen.

I came home first.

Wife came home second.

I asked here where that bull came from.

She said and I quote:

"Oh, I was going to tell you about him tonight. I bought him about a week ago!"

Sheesh - I thought I was the boss.

I have a buyer story too: Neighbor was looking for heifers at a sale, and did not find any to suit. Well a trader had bought a lot of junk heifers, and asked if my neighbor could haul some of them to his house to be picked up next day by trader. Well next am, neighbor takes wife out to see "his" heifers he'd bought. Well wife was a bit dissappointed in pa's selection to say the least. Her comment, "What were you thinking?" When trader showed up to get the heifers, everyone had a good laugh.
