The present project is to sort out open and late-calving heifers. We accomplished the task just as it was getting too dark to see ear tags.

What did you do to your grandchildren to acchieve the WIDE EYED look in the first photo?

Cattle look good in spite of the year Soap, they say hay increases in quality when it's worth more money.

Interesting and enjoyable photo's as always. Maybe the little guy could be named rock star or something along those lines what with the bling around his neck and making sure everything else is in place.

The heifers did very well in Minnesota. I don't know what we'd have done for summer feed, if Denny had not had grazing available. We ultra-sounded them last week, and nine percent were open. Of the remaining bred heifers, about 88% should calve the last week of February and during the month of March. The remaining 12% will calve after the first of April and on into May.

Yes, we are still very dry. However, there is a 50% chance of snow for Christmas Eve. The old boy in the red suit should have enough snow for Rudolph and the other reindeer to pull his sleigh easily.

Sparky has his original belt grinder that he uses in making knives. This new one was made for a customer.

I was wondering about the little guy's choker. My grandson wears one made out of Hazel wood I think. It is supposed to help for teething.

It is made from Baltic Amber, and is supposed to ease the pain of teething. The little guy's mother says that if it helps, fine. If it does nothing, what can it hurt? We will probably never know if it works or not.

If he is like Colt he never bothers with it. It's like they know it helps. :D
