The herd marker cow and her calf. She was born in March of 2010, had her first calf in May of 2011, and has had calves in 2012
and 2013. She seems to be a pretty efficient cow.

It seems different with all this tall green corn out in what has always been just a nice flat pasture.

Nice photos Soap,

We do call those "seagulls" pelicans when they cross into Kansas though

You are absolutely 100% correct, and I goofed. May I blame my error because of frustration with Photobuckets? They might win the war, but I at least finally won the battle this morning. :-)

The sons girlfriend was standing out in front of the shop the other day and three pelicans were flying/ drifting over the yard. She wondered if they were Pelicans and i told her I hoped they weren't Storks.

Thanks for the pictures, Soap. Your grandkids are starting to not look like babies so much. Cute kids!

Couple of questions. With the black birds sitting on the fence, did you get a rain? When that happens here we generally get some rain.

The corn is looking good here as well. Usually this isn't 'corn' country.
I heard that producers are paid by the government to plant corn--because of ethanol. Is that true? And if so, are they paid in every state? Looks like we are a long ways from an ethanol plant for that to work here. :? :???:
