I have a Brick machine ( cost $130,000.00 about 8 years ago ) for sale and was contacted by email from a business in Canada wondering if I would consider $90,000.00 if so they are going to send a man down to review the machine.

Now for the DUMB part - - - how much is $90,000.00 Canidian in US Dollars ????

I'm sure someone out there will know.

Thanks in advance for your help.

According to the Expedia currency counter this is todays rate:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.00 Canadian dollars = 1.01 US dollars

Exchange rate: 1.006745
Rate valid as of: 2/11/2008

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll

So your talking $90,900....

Depends on the time of day and what bank you use, as you can see from what I found and what OT found.... 1 Canadian dollar = 0.99453 U.S. dollars

Yep- around here now they just been accepting it as par..

simple solution.... tell them you want them to make a bid in American dollars...

Thanks, all

I did not have a clue what the exchange rate was so I will tell them I will accept US funds and if they want it fine if not I'm sure someone will want it. The machine is question is $150,000.00 now and has never been uncrated from the factory so while it is 8 years old it for all purposes in new. When I bought the facility the packing slip was still attached and it says in 2001 they paid $130,687.00) I also have the machine the company I bought out was using till the day of sale - - - seems in almost perfect shape I'm trying to get $60,000.00 from it.

I thought about setting them up and trying to produce bricks with the clay overburden from the gravel pit, but my family pointed out I'm 59 and don't need to get another enterprise going now.

When you get to be 59, you might understand. Heck, I am only 56 and I know what he is talking about. :)

I have pointed out that Cor. Sanders was on Social Security when he started KFC

But then I do have my first grandchild ( 13 weeks old Kinsay Elizabeth ) and I have been looking forward to spending a lot of time spoiling her.

I keep trying to lease out the Gravel pit but everyone wants to buy it or they come in with no money, no experience and try to tell me how much I need to spend to make changes for them.
