Montreal- another sad story

I have a good friend who teaches at that school...haven't been able to get in contact with her as of yet!!!

She's part of my ' dino' research summer crew.

About 4 of us are trying to track her by all different angles.

I just heard from my friend and YES she was in the college when the shooting started. They got out but she said it was a nightmare but no one near her was really hurt, as far as she could tell.

Man...what a crazy world

Thank-goodness your friends safe! Your right its a crazy and sad world...just broke my heart watching the news coverage the last few days. I truly felt for those young people :(

at the rural trauma conference today, we observed a "moment of silence" for the victims of the montreal shooting......the only sound heard were the whispered prayers!!!

The scary part is that so far these people who have gone on shooting sprees are dumb as mud. Imagine the casualities if someone with a half a brain cell goes nuts the next time.
At least this time the QPP actually went in and shot the idiot. Remember the last time at polytech when they just set up a parimeter around the school and didnt go in?
On the plus side there where lots of stories about heroism this time with the students helping one another.
Seems like all these school shootings are the result of bullying. Maybe a zero tolerence on bullying will prevent this kind of stuff?

Maybe some parents that pay attention to what their kids are up to might help also-those kids they just caught stateside werre hoarding guns and building bombs on their bedroom-that out of sight out of mind parenting doesn't work at all. The schools in our town have a zero tolerance for bullying already-there can be issues with that also. There's going to be notcases in society no matter what you do-if partents aren't keeping on top of things crap like this happens.

The one story that got to me was ...One of the teacher covered a student and got hit by a bullet in the leg I think.

Our school has zero tolerance for Bullying...a program goes on throughout the year and the R.C.M.P are part of it. For sure parents need to know whats going on esp. not leaving a child on thier own accord on computer.
