Nice pics soapweed, see your beginning to hay,
I think the family will start tomorrow on father in law's meadow

:? Doesn't look too promising though...

We got just enough rain to make a pattern in the dust. Looked like it rained at vetal to the north and to the south I thought you were probably getting some rain, too bad it petered out. Maybe next time

Thanx for the picture story,is your hay crop about what you got last year, looks like yall still got pretty decent pastures up there.............good luck

It's looking to be about half a hay crop. The pastures are shorter than normal, but at least they are still green. We're hoping for a rain yet today, as there is a pretty good chance. It doesn't cost much to hope.

The hay seems to be really light here too. A fellow down by Hyannis has most of his up we are all wondering if he just gave up on the rain and decided to go for after growth or what?

I have a question for the last two posts: Did it look like a better hay crop, or is it what you expected!

It's what we expected with the lack of rainfall. In fact it might be a tad better then thought with the late rain finally in June. Not sure how much it helped the meadows but the rain really made a difference in the pasture grass.
