A local contractor died and left a partly done sub division - - - about 2 acres on the main road was 5 to 6 feet to high and at the north end about 2,000 feet away the lots dropped into a cliff.

I get paid by the cubic yard to move material and like to work efficiently so I keep a dozer pushing allowing me to fill a 15 yard pan in about 35 seconds - - - I am making the round trip from filling to unloading to starting the next fill in around 5 minutes.

One more dry day and this will be completed then I get to start on the school property I just bought in September.

38,000 square feet , every classroom has its own separate heat pump and air-conditioning put in in 2012 as well as a new roof at the same time - - - 17 acres of ground ( I'm going to rent 10 acres to my son to farm )

I'm planing on 20 senior apartments with the libary as a large gathering room with a couple of large screen TVs and the teacher's lounge as a quiet room for cards and board games - - - small Laundromat - - - possibly rent the gym out for events. Do any of you know where I can buy vending machines large enough for loaves of bread and or gallons of milk? There is no grocery or convenience store for at least 10 miles.

I bought this the 10th of September but the legal work on the deed took till last Friday to complete but I have a meeting with the architect in the 16th and hope to get at least a couple of apartments occupied by the first of the year. It will be nice to work inside over the winter!!!!

As far as the vending machines, I would think the honor system would work there. Maybe put up a (bogus even?) surveillance camera on the area.

Looks like an old 860a with the elevator removed. Does it have an apron? Up here you'd have to be fair bit quicker to make rate, but if it's bought and paid for it buys a guy some wiggle room. Good luck with your projects.

The apron drive unit went bad and I have not been able to find one at a reasonable cost so I just lifted it off - - - just offered a man $4,000 for a unit with a weak engine, bad bowl and nice cab, if he takes it I will move the apron and cab to my unit - - - if not at my age I might just part mine out - - - I can move about the same amount of material without the apron by using the dozer and in the gravel pit removing over burden it does not have to look pretty. I'm moving about 150 yards an hour at $3.00 a yard so I can pay an extra dozer operator but I really liked the apron for about the first 15 years I had it. A 1/4 X 20 bolt about 3/4" long backed out of one of the lub dipper pans and the hydraulic motor had enough torque the bolt trashed about every gear in the drive unit. JD wanted over $17,000 for a rebuild drive for about a $15,000 unit!

Are you reserving the "Presidential Suite" for yourself? lol

Hey! I'm not quite 70 yet so I won't need one for a couple more decades!

My kids and grandkids keep wanting me to sell of the equipment and retire - - - what would I do? I'm having fun!!!!
