After ya get a buck worth mounting, the wait to get it back from the taxidermist is almost unbearable! We have a real talented guy here in our little town who does what I think is great work. He is a trapper/biologist and does taxidermy on the side. I don't think my pictures do the buck justice as he is a hog. Thought ya may want to see how the mount turned out. From the side.
Straight on shot.
Next to my puny muzzle loader buck from a few years ago.
It's hard on a guys pride when his wife kicks his butt antler wise!
But I am used to it!
Another trying to show how high his horns are. Lots of character on an old buck.
A closeup of the buck. I think Mike is an artist. Hope all you hunters out there in ranchers land have success this fall. I can't wait (niether can Mrs. H) to get out on the mountains when the leaves start to change.
