It sure has been raining here this morning and its sure taking the frost out of the ground. Its been raining since about 11 pm last nite and its sure making it hard for getting around the feedlot. Thank god for MFD tractors. Hows the moisture situation everywhere else?

MR-Sun's shining over here today, your rain went south of us. We've just started calving and I want DRY ground!!! Our snow is going and the fields should bare off in a couple of days. I hear you about MFWD tractors, we froze up with the soil pretty well saturated and it's gonna be a real mess when the frost comes out!!!!

It has been sprinkling here off and on for a few day but it is definately shown us that spring has sprung. I love the rain in the fields (that are already planted) but have two more to plant and it is still a bit to wet for that.
Calving is almost done and it hasn't been to wet for that Thank goodness.
They are doing all by themselves this year. NO PROBLEMS!!!! :D

Hey M_R,

You can add wet snow to the mud, slop and rain!!! It is the kind that comes in huge flakes with the ice crystals embedded in them and sting when they hit your face!!!
We've had 6 early calves and our due date is today. Only 1 calved so far today but there is 8 or 10 head that are REAL close.
It could be a looooong night!!!!   :-)

It's finally starting to dry some of the mud here but we are forcast for severe storms tonight.

It has been muddy and mild most all winter- - - I think I only turned the heaters on in the waters 5 or 6 nights all winter. Thanks for the mild heating season as high as LP went this year.

Tim,

We were in Brandon tonight and it snowed like crazy, but back at home here and it was still spitting rain. Hope the sun comes out tomorrow for your calves that are hitting the ground. We ve got quite a buch on the ground already but still have a lot more to come yet. Our next group of cows start Calving any day now. By the way I still owe you that coffee...

We were expected to get an inch in Winnipeg, and over the last 24 hours, I think we are pretty close. Oddest thing was some pretty loud thunder. THUNDER!...IN MARCH???!!!...this is one odd winter/spring indeed.

Really thick fog here this morning,we're supposed to get quite a rain,so we hear, problam being we still have a lot of snow!Snow and rain make ice :? We had thunder and lightning in late Jan....that was wierd!!

Well, in Southern Ontario we are DRY. Some guys are out with chisel plows and cultivators. On March 31st!

Yesterday the better half! was out in the garden with the tiller and when she had it worked up, she went and planted radishes, snow peas and lettuce.

March 31st! The snow peas could still see some snow. After all, this is Ontario, Canada.

A few years ago we had a thunder and lightening storm when we still had snow on the ground, and an ole fellar said that was a sign of lots of hail in the summer months. Darn sure was right this area got cleaned out 100% on the 22nd of July. And a wide strip too.
