Dad and I got up at 6:00 and went out to do chores before breakfast. I fed the bulls, and Dad got in a couple cows to milk out.
After breakfast, we saddled our horses and went out in the horse pasture to sort out five big-bagged cows to milk out. I then got out the tractor and hooked onto the sled to start feeding. A butt was on, so I gave it to the two bull bunches, the yearlings, and the heavies. I had to push on another dab of hay to finish feeding the yearlings. Dad picked me up (we left the feeding outfit in the tree lot pasture), and we came in to get ready for church.
Mom and the girls had gone earlier in the car, so Dad and I went in the pickup. We arrived at church just as the choir was completing its song, so Dad kind of lucked out from that standpoint.
We came home, checked the cows, and came in to a delightful shrimp dinner. I then read awhile from "Trails North" by Archie Joscelyn.
We went over to Weber's to spend the afternoon. Tomorrow will be Kurt's birthday, so in a way we celebrated that, too. Greg and I played a game of chess, which he won. Bruce made a big batch of popcorn, which along with Kool-Aid made up our refreshments.
When we returned home, Sybil used Sassy and helped Dad get in the heavies. I fed the bulls and tied up some cows for their calves to suck. I had to study for some six-weeks tests.
