My journal entry for Thursday, January 11, 1968

We stayed in at Grandma's last night. This morning we woke up about 7:00 and Grandma soon had a real good breakfast ready. Waffles, eggs, milk, and an option on cereal made up the menu, and it didn't take us three grandkids long to shovel down quite a bit.

Band started at 8:00 so we had to kick our tailbones in gear and move right along to school. Semester tests made up the morning's work. I lucked out and got "A's" on the two, Science and English, that we took this morning. Along with my "B" in typing, I guess I didn't wind up too bad this semester. There is still a Driver's Ed test to take tomorrow, so I'm not altogether in the clear yet. After dinner, we mostly goofed off until school was out.

Sandra, Sybil, and I walked down to Grandma's and picked up our plunder. We called home, and Dad said he'd meet us at the end of the oil with the four-wheeler and take us on home. We started the car, got the mail, and took off towards the "Green Valley" (which hasn't been living up to its name lately). At the end of the oil, we had to wait a little while due to a misunderstanding of when we would start out from town. Dad picked us up, and we bucked the drifts toward home.

I changed clothes and helped Lloyd for a little while 'til supper. My room needed a clean-up job badly, so I'm working on it tonight.
