This is a younger brother to the horse Ty Wilson got from me. I've played with him off and on but just never got him going and kept him going. We have the calves weaned and take them out to graze in the morning. So we ride to bring them in at night. I decided I had better get riding this guy. I was thinking he was 5 but just checked and he's 7. Oh well better late then never. He's smooth and I think if I can get some miles on him he will be great. My grandson is planning on riding the brown horse "Snickers" that Britt is riding along with me.

Beautiful horses. Just scares you to pieces when you realize their age and how fast time gets away from us.

Looks like a great prospect with good color. Be thankful you can ride a horse. I rode my Polaris Ranger too much, but knew I'd still get horseback for sorting or doctoring. Now the Ranger is greatly appreciated, because it is the only way I can "play cowboy." I can still accomplish a lot with it, but it's frustrating watching others have the fun of sorting pairs while I either watch a gate or be requested to get clear the heck out of the way.

Loved the pictures. Both horses look like good 'uns.

Yep, those ponies have a way of getting older fast. Especially the good ones.
Good luck with him. Hope he turns out to be what you want.

Your headline for the post reminded me of "the yeller colt" that Ralph
Moody wrote about in his "Little Britches" series of books. He was at his
grandfathers place and they went out to the barn to see 'the yeller colt'.
The horse laid his ears back and tried to take a bite out of Little Britches. His yellowed and very pointed teeth snapped together (revealing an ancient mouth).   Those were sure good books.

Snickers the brown gelding was the horse Mantracker used for two, one hour episodes on TV. He is also the horse that Colt gets rides on when he comes for a visit and talks about the rest of the time. :D

You should have come another 90 miles and I could have shown you a bunch more horses and some rough country. :D

Second trip tonight he went even better. Hope the weather holds nice to get more miles on this fall. :D

Don't get too cocky now.

Old pharts like us take a long time to heal up.

Good looking $h!tter, can't say so much about his load.
