Welp, it seems like several people read this post, so I reckoned I'd go ahead and update everyone. Been pretty good minus having a cold and taking the Colorado Standard Assessment Program test. Oh well. Cows are starting to get pretty springy. Hopefully, my heifer will be calving here come 'bout the first of April. Also putting in an order of baby chicks in this week. Livestock Judging started last Saturday. It was a hog workout. Done pretty good at 14th overall of some 40 or 50 kids. Plus, this is my first year in the senior division, so I'm playing with the big guns now. Have to get to bed in about an our (8:00p.m.) to get up at 5:00a.m. to make it a 7:30a.m. sheep and goat workout in Commerce City. Pretty nice place up there. Too bad they have to spoil it with judging sheep, goats, and wool. Have to say though, the shredded lamb served on hamburger buns for dinner is pretty good! Welp, here's some pictures of what our place and livestock look like.
Truck I'll be driving to judging competitions all over Colorado. No one is safe, so keep your eyes open!
Dad's off ranch job. Comes in handy sometimes, too.
Handiest investment ever made. Got a blade on the front that has pushed lots of dirt and snow.
View of out new barn from our driveway. Also a pretty handy investment.
Another handy investment. Good grass hay plus we get the wire for free.
Can fix just about anything with baling wire.
Steers loving life. Also, sticking their tongues out for the camera.
There's always a run on feed when I pour it in at night.
A couple of my favorite ones. They're kinda special.
Mmmmmmm............. Makes me hungry.
Camera Shy.
Boy, she's ready to drop a calf any day now........
View of our "new" house and barn from the end of the driveway.
Ever since we set that windmill up, we seem to get it in a lot of shots. Cloudy tonight, for a change. Maybe we'll get some rain. Well, to be with me. I got an early morning fast approaching.
