For two decades, Phil Steele has prided himself on being college football's most accurate preseason prognosticator.

It's safe to say he expects the Associated Press preseason Top 25 to be SEC-heavy this fall.

Steele includes nine SEC teams in his latest projection which would set a modern poll record for number of ranked teams from one conference in a preseason poll. Last August, eight SEC teams were ranked in the preseason AP Top 25, but only six were featured in the final AP poll after bowl season.

Texas A&M is the only Western Division squad that won't be ranked in the preseason according to Steele, but the Aggies are in the 'receiving votes' category.

Thin pickins for the b12. I don't like Baylor because Ann Richards put th in the conference, and their fans are trashy.

Glad the taters are unranked. This Jayhawk has and will bet on the museum piece - not early but midseason and later.
 
I would not think Tenn is that good, but don't know.... I love when KSU is not ranked preseason, makes for a fun run up the polls....

I've said it before & I'll say it again, O welcher on bets.......Nebraska will win a National Championship before your MildCats do.

Now go bear some more false witness someplace...
 
If the museum piece had 10 more years, he would be almost likely to win a title.
He could still get on a streak with a weak conference.

That entire school is nothing but an arrogant bunch of a$$holes. Very uppity across the board. They turn out lawyers and fine arts majors. Little more.
 
I know it's not fair, but with Baylor being a religious school, I don't expect their fans to be so course - especially effbombing little old ladies.
 
Friggin frakkin brikken brakkin, the museum piece just flipped a Kansas jc lb recruit. Glad the recruit found a school where your word isn't your bond (just joking, we couldda really used him)
 
I love it, someone takes pride in picking the season opening waste of a poll. Yes it's always heavy with the second rate conference cause they need those early poll stats to repeat over and over as their arses are being handed to them.

Pick the end of the year real deal teams and ill give you some credibility. Flor st is overrated, way too many second rate conference teams, Oklahoma won't finish in the top 3 big 12, ala is way over rated, auburn is under rated, Baylor is a real toss up but I think they fold before season end, I wouldn't want to play tcu or Ohio state, with the loss of qb I can't put Oregon 3 so ill just say 1,2, and then there's everyone else. Clemson climbs, ga folds as always, tenn ain't there yet,Stanford climbs and Boise should be replaced, Oklahoma st will be in the top 25 by end of season.

Brad its "religious" in name only. The Southern Baptist still have strong strings attached but it's extremely liberal.
