What do you think about the NFL position on the helmet rules?
Are they telling the players to play hard, but not too hard?

You gonna be the commissioner or the top draw??BAR BAR 2 said:IT'S FOOTBALL PEOPLE ! And what about the old saying,"I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out"? I had concussions when I played. I knew the risks and so did my folks, but I was right back out there the next week. Hitting someone while having your head up and leading with your facemask seems more dangerous than having your head down. These guys get paid millions to play the game and take these risks. Put your "Big Girl Panties" on and quit whining. What's next, no head shots in boxing? Are we going to start suspending pitchers when they bean a batter? What about rodeo? That's one of the most dangerous sports there is. That little helmet some of those guys wear is fine to protect the face, but if a bull steps down on it that guys head is gonna get squashed like a melon. Those guys get hurt all of the time and can't wait to get back out there. If an athlete can't handle the risk, maybe he should find another line of work. It seems like the more they get paid, the bigger whiners they become. Perhaps we should start a National Pillow Fighting League.

People think it's crazy that I let kids come practice on our bulls and horses without a five page document absolving us from all blame if somebody gets hurt. There are people I guess who'll sue even though they participated in a sport of their own free will. Bull riding helmets won't prevent all injuries but they keep you in the game-it's more a business decision than a matter of whose tough. They cut down on chute rash for sure.
