No Mo Bo

I listened to the game in the tractor on 880 Friday. Was a good game to listen to. I like listening to the main guy. Greg maybe? What would propel them to fire him now? Was the job he was doing this year that much worse than the past? This is kind of what Nebraska has been since he has been coach is it not? Honestly I'm surprised he made it this long if they are about winning championships and thought Nebraska kind of was ok with loosing 3-4 games a year and making a lot of money in the big 10.

Eichorst got the easy part of the job done. What's left to do may be harder than finding a shred of truth in one of the Fatman's posts.

The little voice in my head is telling me that this has been in the works for the majority of this season, and that Eichorst and Harvey have already been reaching out to a certain few on the QT. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they named a new HC by this Friday, and it may be a mind blower.

My guess is that Bo would still be employed had he canned Beck and Papuchis, which needed to be done, IMO. I hope Bo enjoys his $7+ million buyout. I worked damn hard for my share of it....

I actually liked where Bozo had the cornholers headed...down.... I was surprised at the firing, figured the iowa miracle may have saved him, but I do agree with Loomix, this has been in the works for a while.....

commits are already jumping ship. I love it!

I hear Scott Frost name in the mix...big mistake, I hope that is the route they go.

3ml&c.... the Guy on the radio is Greg Sharp. long time KSU radio man who got screwed out of a job when the All American scam artist Larry Steckline bought out the radio rights to the games... I miss Greg sharp, wish we could get him back! or Mitch Holtus, he was awesome too.

Oh No!!!!!! Bo is reported as being on the short list of Defensive Coordinators being looked at by Auburn.

Ellis Johnson (current DC) was fired this morning. This cannot happen.

Sounded like eichorst gave him a second chance after last season. No excuses, I think he had the athletes and schedule to win the big ten west.

I can see why you want Greg Sharpe back, I try listening to kstate games but cant really get into game with their announcer. He is more worried about telling exactly how many seconds are on the clock instead of telling what is happening in the play.

A good radio man will make or brake radio networks. I probably could have found nebraskas game on Sirius radio and listen to some other crew or just not listened at all but Greg is just good to hear call a game. They say the Chiefs radio broadcast is the highest rated and most listened to in the nfl. I love listening to Mitch holtus. Even if I have a chance to watch the game on tv if some clown like Dan dierdorf is doing tv broadcast I will just go listen to the radio for the game instead. The part that drives me crazy about KSU games is their broadcast last all fricken day. Turn on the station 3 hours after the game and someone is still blabbing about it.

KSU broadcast is half as long as the Husker broad cast....

Mitch knows EVERY Kansas school mascot. even ones that closed 40 years ago. it is amazing!

My soon to be son in law thinks The cornhuskers are after Jerry Kill The gophers coach time will tell I guess.

there should be a law against in conference coach hires....

There is. The Law of Economics. If you can't afford them, you can't hire them.

NCAA Coach's salaries have gotten out of hand. The schools aren't paying their salaries, the deep pocketed boosters are. That should be changed.

When a coach makes 25 times the salary of the school President, something is skewed.

The University president isn't the one bringing in the income to the school. Most would be extremely hard pressed to justify a salary of 100K, which seems to be the low end of the salary scale for even small high school administrators!

Student "Tuition" income is way more than football revenue. Much, much more. Not to mention income from the State.

Comparatively, football is a drop in the bucket................

Room & board can easily run into more than tuition. When #2 was going to be headed to UNL, R&B for the 2 of them would run $18,000 for the school year. You can rent a place for a third of that, and that included summers.

Oregon State's Mike Riley has just been named Nebraska's new football coach. I like the hire as Riley seems like he has what it takes to turn the Huskers around. Interesting that he left the highly touted PAC12 for the much maligned BIG10. What'd ya'll think?

His 93-80 record as a college coach isn't all that impressive but does it matter? I think Eichorst wanted someone with class.........

Maybe he is just what the Huskers need? Only time will tell.........

How did they come to hiring this guy? From everything I have read he is super classy and an awesome guy. But his record is less than stellar. Like I said before maybe their ok with 3-4 losses but wanted someone that doesn't make sportscenter for going crazy on the sideline???????? Hope he turns out good for you.
