I heard you were considering a tractor to feed with. There are a lot of problems with that that offset the reliability of your team. You have to build a heated house for it or hydrolics won't work or it won't start when it's cold. It'll get stuck in a foot of snow and won't go on ice. It's expensive to buy fuel for it and to heat the house you have to build for it. Besides these days parts don't work or fit because each one is made in a different country and all seem to be a few thousands off. If there ever is a trade war parts will be none existant. I find a peace of mind having a system you can rely on. If I was you I wouldn't sell the team. At least then you'd have a back up and you could use them to pull the tractor out when it gets stuck

That and the Pony Express will begin delivering our mail again.

Buy a Belarus they run cheap have front wheel assist and start very easy in cold weather no heated shed for mine.

Ohh I resisted temptation and told the dealer to pick it up-I could write a book on why I shouldn't own a tractor-wrenches bite me lol. There will always be a team of spoe sort around here that's for sure.

I have started using your bale grazing system on a small scale and to have a back up if heavy snow comes. Seems like it beats relying on the National Guard to feed your cows. Thanks for the idea.

It's a Russian made tractor-pretty crudely made but alot cheaper than the rest. Nobody that owned one up here but another one lol.

The thing with Belarus is, after you strip them down the first 5 times, you never want to get rid of them because you know more about fixing them than the mechanic who built them! Get yourself a Belarus service manual from the 60's and you'll never want to touch one in real life. One thing Belarus was good for was wrenches though. Can't beat a set of Russian wrenches.

I have 2 Belarus tractors they run cheap and start easy.As for breaking down they don't break down any more than any other tractor nice thing about them you dont need to rob a bank to purchase one and the parts are'nt over priced like the blue or green parts.Other than a clutch replacement in my 825 I have'nt fixed anything other than light maintenace.Fuel consumption is about 1 1/2 gallons per hour. Our 562 had a head gasket put in $597 parts and labor. We've had the 825 10 years and the 562 9 years. Some of the old ones were poorly done but alot of John Deere's were paid for by the work a Belarus did in years prior on alot of Ranches around here.

I've yet to see a tractor with good batteries not start when plugged in on an engine block heater, -40 is the worst i've had to start and it did. This is on a 71 JD 4620 and a 76 4430 JD. I would sell every critter before I'd resort to feeding 400 head with a team of horses. I'm tired it's cold yet someone thinks they need to have a baby

From my experience, the Belarus was a good loader tractor. Worked really good for pushing snow, etc. and the front wheel assist was impressive. However, it didnt have the power to open the end gate on our baler. Things have probably changed since that time though...

I had a Belarus 925 about 10 years ago that I bought used with 500 hours on it. It would start first time every time but other than that it was the worst piece of junk I have ever owned. It had bolts loose all the time hydraulics very weak and slow, lights and gauges never all worked at the same time but not the same ones dead all the time. Broke the connector bolts on the front drive shaft because they don"t have a telescoping drive shaft. Walked the front axel out from under it trying to push dirt with the loader, the brakes had all they could do to stop any kind of a load. After 10 months and 300 hours I got rid of it .
