I was watching Today's Homeowner and Danny Lippford was talking about this new generator that is light enough to attach to a traditional home roof and will generate power in wind as low as 1.5 MPH and will fully power most homes with as little as 4 MPH winds and total cost is $4,000.00 or $5,000.00 installed and you can get 30% back in federal tax credits.

I am going to do more checking but it is very interesting.

Have any of you had any experience with this company?

I have thought about alternitive power some. I am more entrigued by solar power mostly because of the maintaince factor. Anything with moving parts will wear. I know a windmill for water really has a maintaince factor to figure in the cost of water, and more so as they age. If the wind turbine never gave problems, it would be great. Same with wives or husbands :gag: I didn't just say that did I?

Two things we've got in the area of my ranch in Venezuela....unreliable electricity and wind.

I'll definitely check this one out.

If you guys do get one let us know how it is. Would definately be interested in this here, for living only 10 minutes from the city we sure have power outages alot. Plus wind is something we never have a shortage of.
