The fifteenth annual Nebraska Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Old West Days was a complete success, with a just about full house on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, and a sell out for Saturday night, sold out by Friday noon.
Folks said this was the best one yet, but then they say that every year.
If you get a chance to hear the Sons and Brothers, I urge you to do so.

I will second everything Been There said. A good time was had by all. The entertainment was super. As I sit typing this, we are listening to a CD of the Sons and Brothers. They are very good, and all are nice guys besides.

Here are a few pictures taken during Old West Days in Valentine.

I have to agree...this years entertainment was exceptional...I didn't know it was possible for someone to play the fiddle and guitar so fast..The sons and brothers..are magicians when it comes to music.
I really wanted to go on the trail ride..but chickened out cuz of the cold wind. Thanks for the pictures...now it really makes me wished I would of went..but being the fair weather rider I am.......lol

You should have come along. A good time was had by all. One fellow was hitting the bottle pretty hard when he arrived, and as the ride progressed, he became incapacitated enough that a vehicle was sent for to haul him back. Another cowboy had to lead his horse back to where the vehicles were parked. I'm not sure how the fellow got his pickup and trailer back home. As far as I know, everyone else arrived sober and left sober, but the one gentleman was in a partying mood even if he had to party by himself. :-)

Nice pictures, soap!

Now is that Wyatt that Peach Blossom is riding?

Yes, that is Wyatt. He excels at being a trail horse. He is gentle, not easily distracted, and doesn't shy. He can concentrate on rolling peanuts with the best of them.

Great Pictures, looks like a good time was had by all.

I think that Jassy must be a Sissy cause Peach Blossoms little friend was in a tank top and Jassy thought it was to cold to ride.

Yup...that would be me...Sissy...weanie...warm weather only rider...If the heater on my horse worked as good as the one in my ranch cake truck...I'd of gone...lol Am sorry that I missed the party guy...would of been a good laugh. Next year...Jerry Grooms promised me that he would schedule the trail ride on a perfect day...lol...
