After a little bounce in the market and nicer weather we decided it was time to sell our calves. It was a nice day and I had my normal crew... 2 dogs, Mrs. Bar M with her baby belly and Little Miss Bar M.

Everything is looking good.

Is that a Neville built ground loader?

Hope you top the market. :D :D

Sure is. We have to haul most of are cattle to grass and with short hauls, tight approaches, and having a truck setting around figured it would be a good investment. And besides the price of dually's and trailers over 30 are crazy.

Great pictures of a no doubt busy day. Hope they sell well. Looks like you have a top notch operation and i sure look forward to see what you post when i see a post from Bar M. Thanks! :D

Thanks for the interesting pictures, Bar M. Our neighbor has a Neville built ground loading trailer like that, and we have hired him countless times to haul cattle in recent years. They are very user-friendly trailers because a loading chute is not necessary.

"Countless times" :?

Are you sure? :???:

I don't think we have ever seen a picture of it.

But I could be wrong. :D

Good guy to haul cattle

I've known him since we were both very young.

Now are you happy, Big Muddy? :???: :-)

Well I said I could be wrong. :D :D :D

Funny though I still don't remember the pictures. I was maybe busy with calving, We might have been dealing with a bunch of rain about that time.
Hope we have that problem this year. :D :D

I have been considering a trailer similar to one of those. But maybe a pot would be better. :???:

I have a friend that has a Wilson, aluminum, that I think loads easier then the Neville. I helped Soap's crew load the Neville a couple months ago, and have loaded the Wilson several times. I think if the Neville had air ride, and you dump the air, it would improve the load ability a bunch. I know that is how Chris does his Wilson. Sets the back almost on the ground, then when you put air back in makes it sit high enough that you don't get hung up.
I'm not sure what Soap's guy gets for hauling, but the guy with the Wilson charges almost as much as a pot, and still stays busier then he wants to be.

If you have big enough driveways I think a pot is the way to go. You can find a pretty good one a lot cheaper than a ground load. And there is a place out of Oklahoma that build a ground load chute to put on the back of a pot. Had a friend that kind of copied it and made his own. The ground load I think will go more places with the wheels forward a bit. And I'm not a full time trucker so a pot always makes me a little nervous if you have a rough drive. They sure rock side to side a bunch. I think either is a good investment especially if you already have a semi setting around.

Bar M did you sell at Napoleon? Do you use C-B Bulls?

Nice looking calves! Hope the sale went well!

Yes i did sell in napoleon Its just a few miles down the road from me and are good people to work with. And yes i do use C-B bulls have for a 6-7 years now and i will stray every once and awhile just to try something new but seem to have to best luck with there bulls. They are just good cattle in my eyes they are not the big wooden shoe type are a more moderate frame easy fleshing type with good feet and love to cover cows.
IF you would like more info or anything just pm me and i can get you set up.
