marias river a few miles south of hwy 2 somewhere between ethridge and butt crank

not for sure - but i want to say maybe that is birch creek meeting up on marias back in that gourge, but i don't really know

down the marias - parked on sullivan bridge

i'd say 10 miles SE of fort bento - highwoods or is it shonkin mtns?

can't remember exactly where - somewhere between helena and butte - looked neater in real life. looked like we were driving to heaven anyhow

i think my wife said those exact same words while we were driving

i remember now - it was between great falls and helena and it was pouring rain and those pictures were right as it was starting to quit... those roads were wet but not slick. remember thinking it wouldn't be fun on them if it were a few degrees cooler.

i guess i always thought there was a formation in front of the highwoods and i could swear i remember old man kelly talking about the shonkins as they were mtns. after reading on the computer a little i think what i had in my head is the sag not mtns. shonkin creek is the one you cross maybe a couple miles out of FB going your way isnt it, right before you get up top of the breaks?
