With the winter night lasting longer now and the snow I found myself spending a little longer before making my morning commute to the barn to do the morning feeding and found myself taking in the Today show. This morning's feature was holiday tips of etiquette for hosts and party goers. What to wear, the proper wine, to remove or not to remove those festive shoes before walking in on the host's fine alpaca carpeting – you know, all the important things. It got me thinking and have put together a little short list of dos and don'ts.
For the host:
If you happen to have a new born that you are warming up in the house – remove it to the mud room so that guests do not trip on the little bugger.
It's best to remove the bucket and pulling chains from the sink.
Be sure that all the snow is removed from around the boot brush for easy access.
Leave the computer monitor on the market report for easy updates.
Have plenty of coolers placed around the house for easy access of Budwieser.
For the guests:
Refrain from pulling the trailer to the party as it takes up too much parking space.
If you have been sleeving cows all day you might want to change your Carharts.
Try and refrain from eating the ham and beans smothered in onions at the diner the day of the party and if you can't resist or have too much jalapeno and bean dip do not stand in front of the wood stove while relieving yourself.
Bring your own spit cup and do not use the hosts flower planter.
Hoping that these little tips will make your party a success!
