Pfizer Apology

Big Muddy ,Will your story change if R-CALF has 80% of all cattlemen signed up????????

NO, I called this fellow on his personal cell and told him where I read his company name. He explained to me what money he gave and how it was solicited. He also has a Canadian subsiduary that was quite upset about this.

You guys can't expect Pfizer to not sponsor "Cattlemen" activities, that might include some R-Calfers. They are a huge corporation and different districts will continue to sponsor activities where ever cattlemen congregate.

They are not choosing sides in the argument. They are simply trying to sell product. They will tell those in Canada what THEY want to hear, and likewise below the 49th.

What you said is true but R-CALF posted that their july 13th convention was sponsored by ----- and Pfizer was listed as a coporate sponsor which they were not. They weren't the only one that was duped into giving R-CALF some money.

For Immediate Release: June 30, 2005

PFIZER ANIMAL HEALTH – NOT A CORPORATE SPONSOR OF R-CALF

In its commitment to animal health, Pfizer regularly makes educational and commercial outreach to cattle veterinary groups and producer associations, without endorsing every individual policy position of these organizations.

Recently, a local Pfizer U.S. sales representative supported an R-CALF reception to be held in Nevada in July for the purpose of exhibiting a booth featuring information on Pfizer cattle products and technical support; this action was taken at the local level as a routine commercial activity, without management review, with no intention of endorsing any R-CALF policy position and in no way making Pfizer a corporate sponsor of
R-CALF.

As a global business, Pfizer supports open and free trade among all countries; including the U.S. and Canada.

Pfizer remains strongly committed to a viable beef industry in both Canada and the U.S.
During the current BSE episode, Pfizer has taken a leadership role in supporting beef producers in Canada with the Pfizer BSE Canadian Cattle Health Credit Program that has delivered over $3M to producers across Canada. In the U.S., Pfizer has also taken an active leadership role in providing significant support to educational and other programs to help strengthen the American beef industry.
