A question for you photo experts...how do you reduce the file size of a photo to upload it?
I email it to myself and use a feature in outlook express to do it...is there a better way?

Use a photo editing program. You can resize it there. I use 5 x 7 in mine, but try a few different sizes until you get what you like. As well, you can crop your images with one of these programs.

You can also change the compression (quality) of the image in most programs. Paint.net is a good one and it is free.

I put the photos I want to bore y'all with into www.photobuckets.com. Once there, they can be resized. It depends on the camera itself, as to which size is best. It seems that with the camera I'm using now, 25% works the best. They are almost too big, but the 50% is too little.

Hope this helps. By the way, you did a nice job remodeling your bathroom, even if Jigs thinks the tub is too short. :wink:

A program called EASY THUMBNAIL is a free download. You can make a pic any size you want -tho it is best to go smaller not bigger and also does compression. For posting I use settings of 560 x560 and compress it to 25 or 30%. YOu can get the size of the pic down to around 20-30 kb which doesnt take very long to load for people on dial-up. or if you are on dial up... for you to upload the pic....
