was out with video rep taking film of cows for northern livestock sale. snapped this pic.

Hereford76 said:i think the cow is a black gelbveih or something. et gal put an embryo in her and it split. she had twins late mid to late june right by the road. i had drove by in tractor and saw them there. it was starting to rain with a little hail so i figured i needed to get them to the barn. jumped the fence and grabbed a back leg of one twin and started dragging him for the barn, turned my back on the cow and she tromped the calf trying to get me. finally got them to the barn with her and was closing the gate and she stood right on top of the same twin calf and would not get off. should have just left them alone. anyhow - this calf made it. if he turns out i want to try him.
If the other twin was a heifer then this guy's heifer calves would have about a 70% chance of twining each time - - - if you are on really good grass that could make you a lot of money but if a cow has to work hard to provide it can be a curse - - - I love twins!
