I agree I like the udders alot. Watch a program on Star lake herefords on RFD. I wasn't impressed with the udders on some of their featured heifers. Like your's alot better.

been trying hard to get them with udders like most of those. the 716 first calver with the 928 (green tag) bull calf at side is probably the closest i've come to my ideal. i cannot wait to use that 928 bull calf next season especially on that orange tagged 901 heifer calf (standing beside 705). thoughts like that do a good job making the year go by not so fast.

i think i'm done for the most part buying over-priced bulls. seems like when the breeder and his sales crew finds out another seedstock guy is interested they do their best to squeeze everything they can out of a guy. i think i'm just going to buy the occasional semen on the right bull and raise my own sons to use. i used a yearling ai son of 114L on 21 of the 25 heifers i kept along with 12 mature cows and exposed him for 45 days... he bred them all and they calved in 27 days - orange tagged calves in the pictures are his progeny.

this particular 114L son had an actual bw of 98 lbs... and i only had to mess with one that was coming tail first. his first 33 calves averaged 80.5 lbs at birth... crazy!

They look great Ace!! I agree with you on buying bulls, we are most always alot happier with home raised bulls than with bought bulls. We're trailing cows tomorrow so I'll try to get some pictures on.
