Here are a few pics I have taken over the winter while doing chores. Dates are on the pics so you can tell about when they were taken

Christmass cows

Bulls were with them too.

Cows coming home. Calving is less than 30 days away

An early one. Lucky she wasn't a day earlier. 30 to 40 below windchill.

Two pictures of cows and calves after the 13 plus inches we receveive 10 days ago.

A bred heifer. Calved about 4 days later.

Maybe some more tomorrow. We are in that band that Tlakota got. About another 10 inches of snow and some wind this time.

I like your pics,how do the cows do on those corn stalks in the winter?Hope calving is going good!!

I resized a couple of the pics.

I have found that the right type of cow can do very well on corn stalks. She must be deep and wide chested. I never fed any protein until late in January once the weather started getting colder.

We usually can't graze that long as the snow usually gets too deep for us, but it sure saved a lot of feed for me this year.

Calving is going just as it should. Check cows twice a day, and tag calves.
