Pictures,,, Mustangs and otherwise,,,,

Just to make the case, that I can take a picture of something besides a mustang.





We saw the band from the road about two miles away,,, made a detour and drove within about a mile from them, climbed a couple of ridges and this is the first ones we saw.



Another few steps over the ridge and "what did I see,,, a beautiful paint mare down in front of me." I've been waiting all spring for this old sister to show up.



The mother, with her last years colt. The other paint is her second colt.
Her first colt, the buckskin with her colt, from last summer is still AWOL.



What color would you say the yearling paint colt on the right is ?
(I already know the white part )



Nice looking gray. I'd like to have that one in the back yard.



These two malcontents were at each other all the time we were there.






Quite a bit of "Play Time" going on,,, but hard to get in a picture.





Only two babys in the herd of seventy.

Three generations. Two paints out of the gray mare is kind of interesting.

I would call that color on the paint you asked about--a dun paint or
a gruella paint.

Have you ever seen the mares fighting? I've heard they can be as bad or
worse than the stallions.

That's something I've never seen. In all the times I've been out there, none of the mares have shown any outward signs of wanting to protect their colts. However It's frustrating, trying to get pictures of the new born colts because they will always be on the far side of the mares, always.
