Sawing off a horn with obstetrical cable. It's good aerobic exercise for fat folks and it works good for cauterizing the bleeding as it goes.

Soap, always enjoy your pics........and good to see that Miss Peach got to use the camera, too. She's derned near as good a photographer as you are!!!!! She just needs a little more practice, I reckon!

We also use OB cable for cutting horns.........and is that a sorting pole that Saddle Tramp has in that one picture? My guys swear by them!!! Theirs look just like the one Saddle has........

Thanks for sharing your productive day with the rest of us (like me, who didn't get much of anything productive done today...... )

thats for sure....i went through a really dry summer last year and that was tough on the pregnancies....i think i was close to 20 percent open....every cow 5 and older was bred and about half of the younger ones were open...but those yearling heifers should bring well over 1000 i would think or pretty close anyways

Open cows have always been a consideration and part of ranching. If you ranch, there will always be some open cows for one reason or another. In fact, these have become so well known through the years that a song was once written about them. It is entitled, "Empty Cattles in the Old Corral." :?

Just pulling your leg of course. :-)
