M-R: Are there flax straw plants still operating in Man.?? Most of them don't seem to last in business very long. I've baled a couple of 1/4's of flax this fall.....didn't make a lot of bales but I've got enuff to build a windbreak for the cows. We feed in the fields as long as possible and the cows only come in for water and in bad conditions. We stack the flax on prairie right next to alkali flats and bed the cows there. Don't want that flax straw anywhere's close to fields we have to work!!!! Dang cows tend to eat the flax straw once it gets a year or so old.........edible windbreaks! BTW does the Case paint make that New Holland baler into a good machine ?!!! :P :P :P

Not sure if the Case paint helps, it bales flax straw darn good better than the hesston. Cept we had to replace 2 bearings on it.

There is a big demand for flax straw for the plant at Winkler. We baled quite a few fields this fall for the buyer who was going around the area. Hard to believe they make that course stalked straw into pillowy soft TP......

MR, your truck looks a little too clean.... didja just wash it at this time of year??!! :O Yer spossed to see if I can get our teuck dirier hunting or nor. lol.

BTW, paint the tractor blue, it hurts my eyes :P

Thanks for pictures MR.We used to have a straw board plant in Forestburg, but it sure didn't last long...seemed like everyday the firetrucks were called over. Well your tastes in trucks better the equipment  :P

Still battling this case of pnemonia, starting the road to recovery I can move around a bit outside now. Still coughing but I ll get better. And yes its me in the picture, just was being a bit camera shy that day. This morning we went to check on the fall cows that are calving and what do we find another set of twins. One lil girl that moma doesnt want so I guess we will have a calf to feed. Its Mrs. MB_Rancher that takes care of the unwanted twins. I havent got the needed patience for that dept.
This afternoon we have to sort fats and haul them. We will take pictures. They are kinda snorty so we may need an ambulance.......

Awwww..such a cute calf...and as for you...don't be camera shy! You'd get over that in a hurry if Soapweed or I were there everyday to take pictures...wouldn't he Soapweed...lol

Yes, ma'am, he would. He'd either get used to having his picture taken, or he'd stumble a lot from having his hands over his eyes and not be watching where he was going.  :-)
