Please keep the familys of the fallen officers in your prayers. We lost 3 this past week. We also had 6 sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

This is a thankless job that is the most dangerous job. Things are getting touchy behind the bars. Please keep our familys in your prayers as well, they have the hard part ...waiting on us to get home.

mssage---my dad was a correctional officer here in montana for 23 years before retiring due to health reasons. in our little town, when an "incident" would occur at the prison, a loud horn would sound for hours, alerting the townsfolk to "shut yourselves inside and lock the doors"...... each time that horn would go off, i would think of my dad and spend hours worrying! my prayers go to your fallen officers and to their families!!

One of my great-uncles was a corrections officer at Sugarland, a godly man and a genuinely nice man, I'm glad he retired and lived to a ripe old age. My youngest daughter's (fiancee' ?) is a guard with the TDC and he recently made Sgt.. I worry about him too, when I hear of an incident and I don't pray for him enough.

We were approaching Las Cruces from the west one time and the sign for the "State Fair Grounds Next Exit" came up and the next, was "State Pennitentary (or however it was called) Next Exit". I was thinking, it oughta say "State Un-Fair Grounds Next Exit".

When I say "we" I am talking about ALL C/O accross the country.

Yesterday a K-9 Correctional officer was murdered by the suspect he was helping track. Another C/O was sent to the hospital from the same incident.
That was in Florida.

I know with all the staff assults that are happening where I work and have heard are happening in other states all who work in prisons need yalls prayers.
Last week at the prison I work we had a Sgt get his nose broken, a night shift C/O was pushed, and I was slapped on the arm. I will say this is the first time I have been scared before I go to work. I use to work Max down in south Texas and I never felt this way.

I am asking for prayers for all who walk the line. I and others are feeling something is brewing and no one knows where or when it will pop off.

Stay safe MsSage. I was reading about that one Female C/O that was killed. she had previously expressed her worries about guarding prisoners by herself. she sounded like a fairly small woman, 5' 3", if I remember correctly.

Not that size matters, but it only takes a second, for them to get the drop on you.

Once again, take care and watch them like a hawk.

Thanks for this info, Ms. Sage. My church prays for many groups, from Pres. O., Congress, Military people, and more. I'll ask for those working in prisons to be added.

Can't help but wonder if the extreme 'liberty' of 'studies' and broad range (and interpretation of! 'religion' teachings and study has a lot to do with this escalation.
