I know with only 21 head this is not a large sample ( kept 6 back for next year ) and 3 first timers the vet says I should have 24 this spring - - - I put the bull in 10 June but he feels they are all 6 to 7 months along except 2 that he has at 4 to 5. He says he counts the pulse on the unbilical cord to determine age.

I told him they can't be that far along but I'm happy they are all bred. Not bad for one smokey bull his first time out ( he was born 15 April 2010)
I feel he has it pretty good as I keep rotating thru 6 to 8 acre lots so he does not have to look very hard for one in heat.

I was really hoping that cow #15 was open as she is such a pain but she keeps giving great calves - - - I would never keep anything out of her!

This is her this spring with a brand new bull calf. If you see the way she keeps eye contact at all times and if any one other than me gets with in about 100" she will try to run them down unless I'm between her and them.

I did give her 125 asprin about 30 minutes before anyone else showed but I'm not sure it had any effect.

I keep looking for a couple of bargins but I'm just to stuborn to pay as much as they have been going for so I'll just keep adding a few at a time.
