Ok so I just recently bought a 5 y.o. mare from a gentlemen that had the horse for a month. He bought her from farm where she had been turned out to pasture all her life. The barn where I keep her at just called me and asked if by chance my horse is pregnant  . And now that I look at it, her belly has dropped and her back bone is showing a little, and her tits are getting a little bit fuller. I have just recently wormed her so I know that it can't be worms. I have had foals before but I don't know if I should try and get the original owners number and ask her if there was a free roaming stud or not. Anyways, any advice at all would be great.

Time will answer the question if she is in foal or not. Her original owner may or may not know if she was ever exposed..........but to what end? You may have gotten two for the price of one. Enjoy!

I would enjoy having two horses but I am a single mom and can't afford another baby. So I'm thinking as soon as it's time to wean the foals gonna be sold. I would LOVE to have another horse, but right now I'm not able to.

Yup... Sounds like she is bred........ Make sure and keep an eye on her and she should do fine..... I had a yearling stud colt that bred a couple of my mares one year.... Don't know if this applies but it did happen to me... Also bought a mare for her pedigree from a thief( I mean horse trader) and she was also bred.......... Was the ugliest colt I had ever seen.... I would guess maybe a shetland pony cross......... Butt ugly thing...... Had to drag the sucker around with my saddle horse to get it to lead......

Well i called the original owners of the horse, and yes she is pregnant. Their stud they had owned at the time broke threw the fence twice with the mares last year and pregnated 5 other mares. She is due in August and as soon as I found out she was pregnant I went to the vet and got all her vacanations for her. So YAY for me I have a little foal due in the heat of August. Looks like I will be keeping an eye on the mare to make sure she doesn't over heat when she gets closer to having it and when she's having it.

I will most definately post pictures, hopefully she goes in the morning and not really late at night, cause i went to college for Equine Management and would love to see my own mare go through birth and not a school's mare. lol

Alrighty so i went and checked on my horse today, i haven't been able to go out to the barn lately cause my son has been sick and i have been off work the past week. and OMG my horse is huge!!! She is still in really good health which i'm glad cause she hasn't had a baby before i don't think and don't know how she was going to do. I told the barn owner that the second she goes into labor i wanna be there because she is a pure black horse and having a baby horse in the heat of august in kansas i wanna be there to make sure she doesn't overheat herself. But i am definately thinking within a week or two i'm going to have a baby horse on my hands. And trust me the minute that baby's on the ground i'll be taking pictures and posting them.
