The other flower is a Lady Slipper, and I've seen them many times but never had the camera. Today I saw only this one group of them, so took their pic in spite of the fact that the lighting wasn't good and the horses were the backdrop.
Big Muddy, that firewood is on forestry, so if you buy a firewood permit it's fair game, but the trick is getting up there with a truck to get it! By the time I get done sawing my way through a mess like that, firewood is the last thing on my mind. I figured I'd rather freeze than have to drag the saw off the pack horse one more time today!
