Al and I made these for our 4-H Rabies Clinic/Bake Sale on Friday, thought they turned out pretty cute. Got the pattern from a Family Circle, they were on the cover, but Al wanted to make them all be Beagles. There were 2 dozen of them, and we got to bring about half of them home.

Very cool cakes. My teenage daughter would like to know what you used for the tongue and ears if they are not a family secret. We have all sorts of animal themed food here.

Those are sweet...share the decorating with us...I know a three year old that would love helpin gramma make those :D

You do NICE work! They're really sweet.
Pupcakes sound better than cowpies, too.

The complete instructions for making them are at this site, or you can get the actual magazine. I'm just glad I have a subscription, or I'd have never seen them! lol

Ears are rolled out Tootsie Rolls, tongues are rolled out Starburst, either strawberry (the lighter colored ones) or cherry (the darker ones).

They are a lot of fun to make, but are pretty time-consuming. I was surprised how long it actually took to get them finished!
