I know females that were twins have a higher % of twin births, but does anyone know what that % is? We have a pair that are coming 7 yr olds, we kept. In 5 seasons one has had two sets the other 3 sets. Also I've noticed some AI studs that were twins. Do they carry a greater chance of twins and at what %? We've never used a bull that was a twin, that we know of, has anyone else used one? and what were the results? Thanks

I know I'm different than most but I select trying to get twins. I feel the reason many don't like them as the area where they are in makes the cows work harder than here. I can cary a cow calf unit here most years on about 1 and 1/2 acres counting hay ground. Thus my cows are able to eat enough to allow two calves to thrive.

I have been keeping twin hiefers as long as both are hiefers and I will keep a hiefer from a cow that has had twins in the past but most years I can only get 10% twins at most. Last year I had no ywins at all and I feel it was due to the drought we suffered at breeding time. I would love 100% twins as I feel my ground and management would allow them to thrive and I am greedy and would love to sell many more pounds af beef!
