....... and it ain't over yet.
Had our first calf out of a bought heifer yesterday.
Today while feeding a bred heifer just dropped dead in her tracks. Hadn't seen one like that before, she never even twitched. :shock:
Another bought heifer needed a pull about 6 PM, this calf is a premie and is in the basement for the night. Debbie went for a tour through the heifers that were going to get penned in a couple days as they are not due until the 10th. Her little heifer that survived a bear attack was calving with hind feet sticking out.
A short attempt at pulling (this heifer might weigh 650 with the calf out) and a decision was made to construct a zipper and take it out the side. The pair are doing fine.
Another bought heifer is starting to calve.......
10 PM and supper is ready. Help coming on Monday.
Guess it's that time of year again.
