Is anybody running a 3/4 or 1Ton with the 6.4 Hemi? Bought one yesterday, mostly a work pickup, for my son and his fiance. I haven't driven it. Anyone know of the good, bad, and ugly of this motor?

Also, at the dealership they offered a "lifetime" warranty that they'd sell for $2900, and you can purchase it any time before the bumper to bumper 36,000 mile warranty is up.....even though there is still a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. The "lifetime" warranty covers most everything, from the steering and suspension to the powertrain and electronics, they say, as long as YOU own the pickup. With something like that, it may be worth keeping it quite a while and running the living crap out of it, unless there's something they're hiding. :???:

Good friends dad bought a new one. All I know is in the snow feeding they got under 5 mpg unrolling hay and using cake feeder. Has decent power but not diesel torque.

Would that 6.4 be about the same as the old 360? Had a friend who bought a new Durango with the 360 probably 10 or so years ago. Best it ever got was 10 mpg. Dad had an old 73 Doodge one ton with a 400 engine ahead of an automatic. It would do 12 mpg most of the time. The horses must be fed, whether they are in the barn or under the hood.

But then my opinion of Doodges is no secret here on rancher's.

Looks like I have to agree with everything that's been posted here. I thought it would be snappier for having 410 horses, but suppose it's a pretty heavy beast. Haven't gotten a gooseneck plate in it yet. Hope the kids like it.

Loomixguy, I think it's about 390 cubic inches.
