These aren't guaranteed to be classics, but they should be strong.

6. AT&T Cotton Bowl: Nebraska vs. Auburn, Jan. 1, 2007, FOX

One of the best of the non-BCS matchups, it wouldn't have been a shock if these two had been playing in one of the big-money games. Nebraska is looking to get its first really big win since beating Michigan in last year's Alamo Bowl, while Auburn is looking to show that it's better than it played all year long. Even at 10-2, Auburn was one of the year's bigger disappointments, coming off a flop of a bowl performance against Wisconsin in last season's Capital One Bowl.

Stars of the show:

1. Zac Taylor, QB, Nebraska 2. Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn 3. Quentin Groves, DE, Auburn

The knee jerk, off-the-cuff, initial prediction: Auburn 27 ... Nebraska 17

if I was putting money on this one, I would go with Auburn.....but NEVER rule out those damned Huskers!!!

I root for the Big Twelve in the bowls, but I think Husker fans out to hope for a BIG loss, that may get Callahan fired. you guys need a coach. this guy is NOT it.

with the pro teams shopping for coaches this year, do not be suprised if Callahan leaves for greener pastures.

He claims he's here for good. I think he left the pros with a bad tasted in his mouth. He doesn't like prima donnas and putting up with egos - that's what got him in trouble in LA. You don't have to do that in college. I think he's OK, I just question his play calling quite often.

I think he looks like a frigging idiot when at the press conferences after a loss...almost like he watched a different game than everyone else....
he gets that deer in the headlight look and stammers around. then gives one of those little smiles......

too bad for you guys that old Tom don't want back in the game...

I don't think any team is going to be knocking on his door anytime soon for a pro job... Too many pro coridinators who haven't failed already and too many more succesful college coachs (Ferenz, Telford or even the retred Carrol) that are more attractive to take a flyer on... Callahan's biggest problem in the Pro's was the organization that he was involved with.. Al Davis is a disaster of an owner these days... Callahan is a Chicago person so I have heard him interviewed from time to time.... Didn't strike me as a very charasmatic guy that would do well in recruiting but maybe his staff has some talent at that...

If you guys think Nebraska is having a hard time finding the perfect coach.

Look what they are going through at the Univ. of Alabama.................
