Well, it's still dead.
However, I was talking to the boys at the ranch last night and they told me the mother of the still-born calf is now running with a new calf whose mother had rejected him.
The cow with the rejected calf had birthed just a few days before the still-born calf. The boys were literally having to tie her up for the little guy to get his meal. What a lot of extra work. They switched the little guy over to the other cow, she accepted him immediately, and now everyone's happy.
The other cow was one of those "discount" cows I'd bought and this wasn't her first calf....which is why I assume she was "such a good deal".
Yeah, I know, don't even say it.
When I get back down there she's going to be hamburger.
