the road coming off the Forest is steep, deep gravel at the top. A lot of pickup and pickup and trailers will spin out and back down to try again. Some slip off the road and go thru my fence . A four wire fence with rail road ties for posts.
A few years ago someone went thru backwards, after a few weeks I found out whom it was. He was a Doctor at the local hospital. I gave it a week or so more then called him and asked "When he was going to repair the fence he had damaged ?" He said he had a friend there at the hospital and they get it fixed. The friend ran into me the next Sunday and told me they put some T post in and the fence was fixed. I told him that was a scab job, that the post were rail road ties. He just kept saying it was fixed.
Today I get a message that a pickup was thru my fence. We get up there to take down a hot wire around a spring box. We taken the cows out yesterday afternoon. All we could see was tire tacks in the snow. We were at the shop putting wire and fiber post away when a pickup pulls up two young men get out and told us they put two 6 foot T post in the fence and pulled the wires up. Then said they replace the steel post next spring with some big wood posts or rail road ties.
Yes some people still raise responsible young adults!!!!!

Restores our faith some times.

One of the bigger farmers from around here daughter went through our fence going to town, never fixed the fence or even called us to tell us about it.

In these situations I just like notification so I can fix it back. We've never had much luck with someone repairing a fence and it lasting. Most lack the tools and experience to do it.

Damn Sodbusters

I doubt they show up come spring. We had something like that happen last fall and we fixed it but the neighbors new gate is still loose it was on a corner and know one has bothered to do anything. Your best off fixing it yourself in my opinion.

I can only imagine the butt whoppin' I would experience from my Dad if I was to wreck somebodys fence and not put it back as good or better than it was before I wrecked it!

And nowadays, I would fix it myself (if somebody ran into mine) and send them a bill. Most folks can't put in a decent fence much less repair one. Bless their hearts.

Right on H. I would rather not have many folks fix my fence. I do have a place at the T in a road, and every now and then someone goes through. Once in awhile it is fixed in good shape. Sometimes not so good, and I have to tear out their repair and then refix it and most of the time I fix it first (easier), having no idea who ran through it. Just part of it. Not very pleasant, but part of it. And yes, Jodie, with some choice words for the culprit.
